Mississippi Artist King YC is back with his mixtape “King YC For President” featuring “Right Back” with Hurricane Chris and “Lights On”, which is currently on the Top 100 Media base Urban charts. This was done one hundred percent out of King YC’s own pocket without any outside assistance. In addition, he has also managed to catch the attention of some of the Top 40 hip hop stations throughout the country. The Source Magazine has dubbed him one for the artists to watch with the “All Eyes on King YC” reference. YC has enlisted the services of some heavyweight producers in the game with Nard & B, Hitman and RawSmoov.
In 2011 he launched YC Entertainment, a full-service record label that has released many successful projects including his album “Finally Made It”, which was cover by national media and instantly got over a quarter million plays and views on Spotify and mixtape sites. The album also has many popular features including a club banger called “Work Ya Body” with Lil’ Flip. King YC is currently in the studio working on his next studio album “Definition of King”, which is slated to release in early 2017.
“Whole Lotta / Dirty Bird” marks the beginning of a big year for Mississauga rapper SYPH — in 2017, he’ll release an EP and appear on Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers 4.5 mixtape. His new music video, premiering today on The FADER, is a tour of his Canadian hometown. It’s two songs in one: “Whole Lotta” has a beat that recalls Zaytoven and Travis Scott, an ode to flexing that sees SYPH cruising around town. As the sun sets, the clip segues into “DirtyBird,” where SYPH and his crew don balaclavas and pull donuts in Bentleys as snow falls gently in an apartment complex’s parking lot.
