Checking in from the Mississippi region is Lancing Ruel with an ode to the women of Louisiana on the illustriously produced Snack Beats, “Louisiana’d”
The twenty year old Ruel calls the Diamondhead section of Mississippi home but finds his yearning for Louisiana women the topic of discussion on his latest single, “Louisiana’d”. Snack Beats provides the soundtrack here that walks the line of the Drake and Lil Wayne collab, “Believe Me”. The two know how to compile an addictive tune, catch it on Soundcloud.
It goes without saying that if you’re on your grind you will encounter some hate every now and then. A lot of times people can’t stand to see you win, which will cause some “Jealousy” between you and them. Mississippi riser 1$t Letter can attest to that and does so in this banger. Produced by Dozier, bouncing 808’s lay the ground for 1$t to address anyone with something to say behind the scenes.
Dolla Black has been catching more and more ears following the release of his latest single “Wait For It”
With the visual now available for all to see, it appears Dolla Black that will only continue for the AVEVO-produced cut. Filming the visual is Camden Da Bastard, who’s uniquely frantic style of direction meshes well with the track itself. Dolla Black shows a certain level of confidence in his skill both audibly and visually, making this one of his best pieces of art yet. If you’re counting on Dolla to fall off or slack anytime soon: wait for it. Watch now and look for more to come, like his upcoming joint project with Mississippi’s Savvy, on www.DollaBlackBDE.com.
With his first official project “FILTH”, Mississippi’s artful dodger, Mastad0n, makes a bold statement. From the start, you can see that he has no problem mixing sounds to create a play list that is all his own. The bulk of production is self-produced, with features coming from Vitamin Cea, NeoSoooul, Rosser and more. Check it out now and be on the lookout for more in the future from the Jackson-based emcee and producer.
After making a strong first impression on #CoppinCea, Vitamin Cea follows up with new music in the form of “Vibe Therapy”. While the former found her in a more playful state dropping bars without a specific topic, “Vibe Therapy” provides more insight into Cea as a person. Listen to the song below.
Dolla Black is back to close out his “Black Fridays” series with help from Coke Bumaye. The pair both bring their lyrical dexterity to the table on “Essence”. Soulful samples help to round out the track which is produced by Truth Gordon. Though it is his last track for the month of February, it’s arguably the strongest effort from Dolla Black yet. Be sure to check it out and subscribe at www.dollablackbde.com for all updates on what he has to come in the future.
