#NewMusic DJ DB405 drops EP titled “Lapwing Rd” | @DJ_DB405 @PromoMixtapes

Dj DB405 aka Mr. #GodisTrill is an up and coming DJ from Oklahoma. As an Oklahoma native this is the place where he first fell in love with music. This is where it all began before being in the streets selling mixtapes, DJing nightclubs,  and grinding all around OKC at the young age of 16.
DJ DB405 is a Christian DJ who is working with artists to create music with a positive message. Dj DB405 seeks to change lives through his music. Dj DB405 named this album Lapwing Rd. after the street he grew up on in Edmond, OK.
Let’s get into “The Lapwing Rd. EP. Overall this is a crafty project. I am feeling the energy, the delivery, and production. Dj DB405 may be a christian DJ, but he delivers a positive message over trappy beats, and highly crafted engineering which is up to par with any of his peers.
Historically “Christian” rappers have left a “corny” taste in my mouth with their over produced beats, boring lyrics and overly “churchy” sound. We need more Christian DJ’s like Dj DB405 to bring out the dope Christian artists. I am rocking with this dudes music and I love the positive message he exudes through his projects.

James Flow releases a visual for “90’s Baby” | @JamesFlow_

With a high amount of “mumble” rappers getting the spotlight James Flow comes thru with a new single that’s reminiscent of a time when rappers really could spit. James Flow is an artist from Brampton a City in Ontario, Canada that takes pride in his music. “90’s baby” was created when James Flow realized the only real currency is time. Personally I rock with this record. James Flow keeps your attention, his delivery is clean, the production is on point, overall he keeps it short and sweet, with an abrupt ending which leaves you seeking more. Major Singer/Songwriter KD Young Cocky Drops New Single “Lifestyle” | @KD_YoungCocky

Major Singer/Songwriter KD Young Cocky Drops New Single “Lifestyle” (Credits: Dreezy, David Banner, Lil Durk, Demetria Mckinney)

R&B is making a major comeback, but not without newcomer KD Young Cocky. Known for his major placements as a songwriter with national artist including David Banner, Lil Durk, Dreezy and more, his new single “Lifestyle”, is a game changer for the R&B world. The infectious hook “Do you love me or do you love my lifestyle,” speaks to the intentions of women. Produced by Law Beatz, KD speaks to his chic coming from the heart and being in love with the lavish life from cars to strip clubs but looking for longevity.

The mid tempo classic R&B single speaks to a deeper meaning than just what’s on the surface. KD showcases his songwriting talent on “Lifestyle”, from riding the beat to switching up the flow mid verse. The single encompasses more than just a song for the present, the signature sound speaks to KD’s longevity as an artist and proves he’s up next.

Roc Well delivers a hot new single for the Hip-Hop heads entitled “Roc House” | @Rocwell2011 @Promomixtapes

Roc Well is known to put out real hip hop music. His forte is conscious rap with real hip hop flavor not just another “mumble mouth” rapper.

Roc House does not disappoint as he goes in over the classic Run Dmc “Run’s House” beat giving this song a bit of a nostalgic sound which takes you back to when hip-hop was in a totally different state.

Learn about @DjSmokeMixtapes & find out how to submit music for upcoming “Smoked Out Radio” mixtapes!

Dj Smoke is your go-to guy when it comes to mixtape hosting, promotions, blog placement, artist development etc. Smoke is a die hard grinder who takes his brand very serious; respects the business as well as the Hip Hop art-form. Before we get into this lets drop a plug for any artists who are reading this. Dj Smoke is set to release the next set of mixtapes beginning with Smoked Out Radio v48, v49, v50 as well as others. If you have a dope new single now is the time to send to Dj Smoke for possible placement, Dj Smoke’s contact info is at the bottom of this page.  As we introduce Dj Smoke to the people who aren’t familiar with him. First let’s go back a bit, and give you some history on this guy we call Dj Smoke.

Dj Smoke is from the Chicago-land area, and has been creating mixtapes since the days of creating real life “mixtapes” on cassettes. It was 1997 when Dj Smoke started recording local artists, recording, and making beats. Back then Dj Smoke (Then named: Dj Timmy T tha F*ckin Khemist among-st other colorful monikers) would begin breaking artists locally (S/O Zoo Crew, Nation Biz, Raw Material & several others) long before the days of internet. This continued for some years before Smoke let the music get away from him.

After taking some time away from music Dj Smoke emerged again in 2007. An avid music lover Dj Smoke disliked how many of the well known mixtape Dj’s were watering down the art-form by only releasing exclusives, pressing buttons, and screaming all over the songs on mixtapes.

With the intentions of bringing back the true art of mixing, blending, scratching and using clever song selections via mixtapes. Dj Smoke created his first publicly released mixtape titled “Remember 9/11, 50 Cent vs Kanye West” when both artists were to release their albums on 9/11/07. Smoke created other mixtapes, but noticed something was missing as many Djs would repeatedly play the same artists that were heard on the radio. Dj Smoke wanted to reach out to the independent market to bring different music out, and allow less known artists music to be heard.

DJ Smoke began “@DjSmokeMixtapes” and “@PromoMixtapes” Chicago-based movements in 2008. Dj Smoke learned how to brand himself via networking, creating a slew of successful mixtapes; “Smoked Out Radio”, the popular “Twitter Radio”, and the mega mixtape series Daily Dose.

Dj Smoke created Daily Dose in 2008 as an anniversary to the month he began releasing mixtapes the year before. The new series took off, and Smoke continued it for 3 years.
Daily Dose 2008: Dj Smoke mixed and released 10 mixtapes in 10 days.
Daily Dose “31 Flavors” 2009: Smoke did 31 mixtapes in 30 days.
Daily Dose 2010 “50 Shots” when Smoke dropped 50 mixtapes in 30 days.
Daily Dose 2011: “The 12 Daze of Christmas” releasing 12 mixtapes in 12 days.

In the years to come after releasing several hundred mixtapes, Smoke was nominated and won a couple awards including “Best Blend DJ” with the SEA Awards (2010).

Smoke linked with Coast 2 coast Dj’s, and Sucker Proof Dj’s; shout out to Lil Fats, Mota & Nick G. After becoming a part of Sucker Proof Dj’s and working with Sucker Proof Radio show opened the doors for Dj Smoke to become a mix show Dj on other networks.

Through the years Dj Smoke has been a part of some great movements, and has worked with a lot of dope people. After teaming up with Dj C-Bit & Dj Big Pat, The Home Team Djs was created. The Home Team Dj’s is a Chicago based crew of Djs who have made a name doing parties, artist showcases, mixtapes even radio.

Being one to network with the best; some of Smoke’s affiliates include Stack Or Starve Approved, Lady Soal Pr, Grand Total, Middle man inc, H3 Entertainment, #4U Entertainment, Team Rated Next, Dirty South Radio just to name a few!!

Currently, Dj Smoke is more active than ever, and he is looking for hot new artists with DOPE music to break on his upcoming mixtapes (Smoked Out Radio v48, v49, v50, Dope Shxt  v2, and Summer Madness v3).
