[Interview] Introducing @jldmusic

We caught up with a new artist in the game and his name is JLD

[Interview] Introducing @jldmusic

Favorite color?
Blue

Favorite food?
Too Many to choose from but what sticks out the most is around holiday time like Christmas – Dressing,  Greens, Mac&Cheese, Turkey Etc.

Favorite artist and why?
A few have inspired me,  Michael JacksonBrian McKnight,  Joe,  Brandy,  Kim Burrell,  Darryl Coley,  Prince,  Fred Hammond,  Beyonce, India Arie

What age was you when you got bit by the bug the music bug that is?

I have been surrounded by music since I was born… it runs on both sides from singers to musicians it hit me very early
Who was some of your role models while coming up in the music industry?Coming up I was exposed to a guy that I will never forget,  he was one of the Head Choir Directors at my church his name was Ricky Linton… his vocals were Ridiculous I mean perfect pitch when he was going over different parts …even when he whistled it was perfect as well,  if I’m not mistaking he worked with Aretha Franklin early on when he was younger,  they’re runs and riffs vocally were very similar.  One of my last conversations I had with him was that I asked him to train me,  He told me yes and I was so excited,  I promised I was going to be a sponge… soaking up all the his techniques.  I shortly found out he was sick,  not to long after he passed and we never got a chance to work together but he was definitely a true role model for me coming up …someone I will never forget!
What made you decide to get in your genre of music?

I have roots in Church and it will always be my foundation…

Pop/R&B/Hip Hop and Country is what I connected to when I started my pursuit… So I wanted to leave an Imprint of my own expressing myself through these Genre’s

What’s the name of your first single?

Tap Out

How did you come up with the name?

I wanted to choose something that was easy to remember and that Stood out as well,  so those two words together are already familiar with people’s minds so it was a easy decision to make.

What is your feed back on the direction of hip hop?

Hip Hop like every Genre is always evolving and I personally feel that the balance of what is happening with today styles and the foundation that was laid in the very beginning will come together and create the future of the Genre

If you could do a collabo with any artist who would it be and why?

Brandy,  Beyonce,  Drake,  Kanye,  Taylor Swift to name a few.  The bodies of work these artist’s have laid is Unprecedented,  they all have took risks expressing themselves and I fill that our chemistry will compliment each other to the fullest so I hope in the near future I will be able to work with all of them at some point.

So how does it  feel to get your music out to the masses?

Truly it is a dream come true… or I should say My Dream meeting my Reality and My Reality meeting my Destiny

I am Truly Overwhelmed with just knowing I have the opportunity to present my visions,  my perceptions,  my idea’s musically to the world.

Tell us a little bit about your self?

I have a Strong Spiritual background…I’ve always had a love for Art in the form of Creating.  I highly respect and have a love for acting… there is nothing like being captured by a moment for those few seconds taking you hostage (Action/Adventure and Sci-fi, and of course Comedy).

I’m laid back but I can be very spontaneous… I wouldn’t call myself a comedian but I have made a lot of people laugh… I am Very Determined,  Disciplined,  strong willed,  I’m not afraid to take a risk for what I believe in.  Basketball is my first choice when it comes to sports… My Jump shot is Crazy… No Rim is safe!

I have done a lot of Jobs but all Roads have led back to Music… its who I am.

Love & Hip Hop’s Lil Mo & @itsVain ‘Breakup to Makeup’

Art can mimic reality so well sometimes that you can barely tell which is real and which is art.  Such is the case with Lil Mo’s real life Break Up to Make Up story with her husband, which plays out on this season’s Love and Hip Hop New York AND in her video with Vain called, “Break Up to Make Up.”

Lil Mo is currently in the headlines for the recent visit to Couples Court with her husband. Not to mention all the drama that has been playing out in this season’s Love and Hip Hop New York. With the allegations of her husband’s cheating, their son reading the blogs, therapy sessions and SO MUCH MORE!!

Vain is best known for his videos and collaborations with Jim Jones, Red Cafe, DJ Jazzy Joyce and Slim of 112. Vain and Lil Mo do not disappoint with this Classic Love Story.

The video features some super smooth hip hop lyrics from artist V.A.I.N and some “superwoman,” vocals from one of our favorite Diva’s, Lil Mo.  To top it off the chorus features the Stylistic’s “Break Up to Make Up,” classic hook with Lil Mo’s hip hop styling.

Check out Hip Hop Artist V.A.I.N along with RnB diva Lil’ Mo as they navigate their own Love and Hip Hop rocky relationship AND “Break Up to Make Up” below:

Unrelenting artistry exudes from Elijah Hosein. Motivated by the classic showmanship of Michael Jackson, and the contemporary allure of Bruno Mars, the “Below The Moon” singer/songwriter is determined to make the world respect his voice.
Tribulation, talent, and triumph continue to caress his perspective. Shaped by Brooklyn streets, the Flatbush native is working to ensure the globe moves to his beat. “Secret,” the second release, from his anticipated EP Reflection, mandates movement.
Grammy-nominated, Kaleb “KQuick” Rollins’ eloquent production melds seamlessly with Elijah’s pure vocal ability. Insatiable horns increase the track’s overall appeal. This visceral Roarin Lion-visual encaptures simplistic brilliance. Here, Elijah Hosein’s innate artistry is given the spotlight.
