DGold – F.I.F.O ft. Gorilla Zoe

DGOLD offers ‘Inspiration’ to the world with hot new EP

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Like many other musicians in the world, David Gold was set to have a great year filled with many live performances in 2020. The Coronavirus shut all live events down, but that didn’t stop DGOLD from continuing to create. What he was able to accomplish in 2020 is one of the rare EPs of the industry that are often looked back on many years later as genre-changing.

“Inspiration” is an EP that DGOLD said he’s extremely proud of. It features vibes that he said were inspired by the same music that he listens to when he wants to get going and be hyped up. He loves big music, and he feels like making that kind of music is what he was made to do.

“I’ve been in the entertainment industry my whole life with my family business D3M Licensing group and I love it,” he said. “You can feel that with Inspiration. This is who I am. My life and love of music is the inspiration for it. And I think it’s a project that shows the hunger, to be something better that so many of us have inside of us.”

Featuring hit singles like “F.I.F.O.” currently on all streaming platforms and “Come to Me” coming soon, the EP is a showcase of well-crafted lyrics and upbeat energy that simultaneously make people want to move and feel like they have limitless potential.

“I’ve got good lyrics and a delivery that’s my own,” DGOLD said. “I feel like a lot of people nowadays are focused on either the beats or the auto-tune. I’m not the biggest fan of auto-tune though I appreciate it when others use it. Some people use it well and others don’t. My most important thing is the lyrics. You can look at the rhyme scheme of my lyrics and you’ll rarely find something that doesn’t rhyme or isn’t a good comeback. It’s just better music in my opinion – the kind that speaks for itself.”

That high-class sound is such that it has caught the attention of other industry insiders. In fact, “Come to Me” is already contracted to be on the soundtrack for the original motion picture “The Weight of Us” – a forthcoming horror film from notable director Rob Prior. “F.I.F.O.” features notorious multi-platinum selling artist Gorilla Zoe as well, and the song led to DGOLD’s world debut on Tawk Radio hosted by Cypher Kai who has an audience of more than 200,000 fans worldwide.

DGOLD is ready to take that success to the next level and said 2021 has more music in store following the success from Inspiration.

JFK – Sonic Hedgehog

Chicago rapper JFK shares artistic gift with the world through new mixtape

CHICAGO, IL – If there’s one thing Jonathan Kelly has known for most of his life, it’s that he has a gift of music that he was meant to share with the world. It’s a gift that he’s honed and developed over the years. Today, he offers that gift to the world as the hottest new Chicago-based artist operating under the stage name JFK.

His latest mixtape, “A Gift from Me to You,” is the exact kind of music that he knows he was destined to share with others around the globe. The mixtape is his version of bringing bars back to the industry with real songs that will touch the soul, and with vibes that will take true Hip Hop fans back to the days when “music was real music,” he said.

“It’s an emotional roller coaster ride of songs that are gonna make you feel every word,” JFK said. “Every lyric in each song is my gift to the world. The thing that sets me apart is my wordplay. Every song is crafted. You’re going to see the talent behind every song. Nothing is rushed. It all comes from the heart. And there’s music for every genre of Hip Hop – it’s not all gang banging, drill stuff. It’s family music and emotional music and stuff from my everyday life.”

The first of the 10 songs on the album is “Sonic Hedgehog” which JFK said he chose as a debut because of how hot it is. The club banger features motivational lyrics that inspire others to take care of business and make fast moves so as to stay on top of the game. The up-tempo party song is the perfect song to introduce a new wave of fans to JFK’s music, and he said he’s anxious for it to begin making its way across the country.

Another single from the project that is making waves is “One and the Same.” Inspired by the social unrest that came to a head in 2020, the song is JFK’s way of encouraging others to try harder when it comes to mending racial lines and working together to overcome the social injustices of the world.

When you walk around in Chicago, it’s so segregated,” he said. “White people won’t talk to you because you’re black, and this song is basically saying that I’m not different than you and you’re not different than me. We could be best friends, but you won’t even speak to me. It’s a song about how people could have so much in common, but fear is letting one walk away from a person. You could lose a soul mate just because you’re afraid to say ‘Hi.’”

Following “A Gift from Me to You,” JFK said he’ll drop the album “Dinosaur and the Marvel” by March.

Montana Staxxx – Freedom

Montana Staxxx inspires others to break free of the mundane with new single ‘Freedom’

DENVER, CO – Lemonte Hall – AKA Montana Staxxx – is a veteran of the music industry whose penchant for telling it like it is has challenged listeners all over the world for many years. His style of music is soulful yet aggressive, with lyrics to his songs tackling some of the tougher issues of the world. That substantive music takes center stage with his latest single, “Freedom.

Bouncing off a get-up-and-move kind of vibe, this soulful single features horns and other instruments to serve as a background for lyrics that challenge people to consider the things they value most in life. Montana said he wants the song to inspire people to let go of the more material things in life and instead turn to the long-lasting truly joyful moments and experiences that lead to a fulfilling life.

“It’s about telling people not to allow things like money and religion to track or hold you down,” Montana said. “That’s what those things do in the big scheme of things, but it’s not how you’re gonna get freedom. The only thing that can set you free is the truth, whatever that is for each person. Don’t allow these things to be stumbling blocks in your life to achieve real freedom. Don’t take things for granted. So many things in our world are conveniences that we take for granted – like being able to go to McDonalds whenever we want, or looking up whatever we want on Google on a smart phone that we carry around. But that’s not freedom, especially if we come to over-rely on those things.”

The single not only challenges people with a deeper meaning, but also showcases Montana’s one-of-a-kind voice. It’s the kind of voice that is immediately recognizable when people hear it, and it’s something that has set him apart in a crowded industry for many years.

Montana first started his journey into music as a child when his mother was a singer and recording artist. Most of his youth was spent either with his mom in the recording studio, or back stage at many of her touring shows. His grandmother also played the piano at church, and he grew up singing in the church choir and learning how to play the piano from her.  Montana was born in El Paso ,Texas and raised in both Texas and California. As a teenager, Montana learned how to produce music and studied some of the best rappers of history. He began to develop his own unique sound and style, and in 2008, he started doing shows professionally and recording his music.

“What has set me apart more than anything over the years is the topics I talk about,” he said. “I tackle things that a lot of people don’t really discuss because it might be a little touchy for them. But I believe the topics that are hard for people to discuss are the very things that are important for us to talk about. That’s why I always try to have substance in my music, if I can. I hope my music is known for me giving the best effort I can and for always trying to be honest when I could.”

Cartel The Great – Big Shit

Cartel The Great displays excellence with style on new album ‘I Suppose to Been Here’

CHICAGO, IL – Greatness is something that Cartel has always strived for. Whether in life or business or music or any other endeavor, greatness is the ultimate goal. That excellence comes to the forefront on his latest album, “Cartel The Great: I Suppose To Been Here” which is currently available across all streaming platforms.

“Coming from the streets, I’m a talented rapper, but I went to prison (for nine years) and this album is to show people I was supposed to be there,” Cartel said. “It has a variety of sounds and styles coming at you in different ways. The whole thing was to show you have regular people you don’t even know about who can make industry-level music.”

Cartel is an artist who has experienced a lot of hardships over his life. At age 21 he was incarcerated for six armed robberies and was sentenced to 18 years but was eventually released after only nine years in prison. Going through the pain of the streets and losing his mom while he was in jail, Cartel decided to come home and take music seriously. He’s always been a talented artist who honed his skills as a young man battle rapping with his father.

“I’m a diverse artist with lyrical skills who can go any direction,” he said. “I use my experience in the streets to illustrate my bars. I’m a perceptive rapper. I know how to make it practical. I made a grand perspective practical. I talk of the relevancy of the streets but also give some conscious-minded stuff and talk about the consequences for your actions. And with all that, I have a strong delivery when I rap. I’m also versatile with my flow, so in a lot of ways, it’s hard to put me in a box.”

That is perhaps best demonstrated with his debut single “Big Shit.” Much as the title would suggest, the song flaunts Cartel’s greatness as he talks about his experiences on the streets paired against a Pop-Infused beat. It’s a song that Cartel said pushes listeners to “not just talk on little-people terms but talk on big-people terms.” The song features King Louie who is a well-known artist from Chicago. The feel-good, party record is universal in its relatability to a wide audience, while also serving as an anthem for all the overlooked artists of the streets.

“More than anything, I want to show my artistic freedom,” Cartel said. “I also want to challenge people’s perceptions. I think outside the box and find creative ways of expressing my message, and I want to show others that they’re capable of that, too. You can come up out of the streets and the struggle and the trenches, and creatively use your talent to come up.”

Nealy – Hot Pot of Chilly

Justin Nealy cooks up a hot pot of chili with new single, just in time for winter

RALEIGH, NC – If you’re like most other music lovers in the world, when you see a song titled “Hot Pot of Chilly,” there’s something inside you that must hear what it sounds like. Next thing you know you’re listening to it and the fun new single from East Coast artist Nealy has you hooked. It’s catchy with a great Rap vibe, with lyrics that pull you in and invite you to just have a good time. Like the hook says, Nealy is coming through hot like chili in the pot, chillin on a hot new stove.

“It has some real stuff in it, but it’s just a good-time song,” Nealy said of his new single. “It’s different than anything out there but mostly, it’s just a fun song.”

A video for the single is also available on Nealy’s YouTube channel. It was shot at a restaurant in Durham, North Carolina in which Nealy used to work as a bartender. The video features multiple shots of Nealy in the kitchen, cooking up a hot pot of chili while also showcasing a part of his hometown.

Nealy began his journey as an artist at age 18. He said he was inspired by his friends, who were also talented rappers. They encouraged him to write his own songs and after a while, he realized he had enough natural talent to pursue music as a career. As he developed his sound, he studied multiple genres of music and never really settled on one specific artist as a muse of major influence. It’s the music itself that motivates him, and that electric taste has helped him create a signature style that is equal parts original and familiar.

“A lot of times, I don’t even know who sings a song when I hear it. I just know I like it,” Nealy said. “I always look to the actual music and not who’s popular. Music influences me more than the actual artist, and that’s what I try to create with my own sound, as well. I have some funny stuff, but not corny – more subtle humor. I also have things that are deep and people can relate to. Since I started, I’ve matured as an artist and everything I’m doing now is more of intentionality. My music is consistent. Some of the beats I’m working with today are different, but I’m still the same person writing. But a lot of people don’t realize I went through a lot to get here. I’ve been pushing myself and I’ve sacrificed a lot of things to get to where I am. I took a leap over a river instead of building a bridge because I wanted to go for it all. It’s starting to come back and pay off, and I’m excited for people to hear the new music I have now.”

Nealy’s music is available across all streaming platforms. His next release will be a single called “317965” which is slated to drop in January.

Holiday The Golden Child – Features

A new era of female Rap: Holiday The Golden Child releases a mixtape and single highlighting women empowerment

New York – An up-and-coming female Rap icon and ridiculously talented musician, Holiday The Golden Child is taking over the Rap scene with two new releases — a mixtape named “The Makeover” and her latest single “FEATURES.” Both discuss the hardships of making it big as a woman in a hyper masculine industry like Rap, and the rights of women to express themselves however they see fit, no matter who they are.

Holiday started her music career as a poet. She found herself using poetry as an outlet for her emotions, something that helped greatly after the passing of her father and after several different experiences and career changes. She found herself drawn to Hip Hop. “I went from just writing one song to learning how to hone in my craft and understanding how to compose a song, what a verse was and what a bar was and things like that.” From those beginnings, she has continued to work on her skills and grow as an artist.

Inspiration for Holiday and her music comes from her life and experiences. “I’ve got a hard head. I’ve learned the hard knock life, from being out in the streets, becoming a stripper, from living in the suburbs, having that good girl lifestyle and to go into the hood and learning what it’s like on the other side.” Being able to see both sides of the spectrum gives her a new perspective and allows for Holiday to reach a greater and more versatile range of people through her music.

Through those influences and a variety of other things, Holiday has crafted a sound that is uniquely her own. Holiday’s music has a contemporary Hip Hop feel to it. Her lyrics have a fun and easy feel to them, and are always relatable. Specifically in her new single “FEATURES,” she shines with artistic lyricism and an overall amazing song.

“FEATURES” is an exciting new track where Holiday discusses the importance of being attractive and well off in the Hip Hop industry. Not only is the song beautifully done with an intricate string piece that overlays an electric beat, it holds a strong message that is extremely important to today’s climate. In 1.36 minutes, she brings light to a variety of things that this industry finds almost if not more important than the music that artists make. This is especially true for women, something Holiday as well as many of the other powerhouse women in the Hip Hop industry have attested to.

Holiday’s new mixtape, “The Makeover,” is essentially a collection of tracks that discuss the power that women have in the music industry and how that differs from the power of men in the same position. It truly pays homage to the evolution of women in Rap as it remakes the hits that defined several instrumental movements.  “The music is dedicated to the female pioneers in the game who have paved the way for me to do what I’m doing, so I felt it was only right for me to pay homage to them and give them, and the world, the music that we all love so much.” These tracks are essentially a salute to the female rapper and everything that she has had to go through to get to where she wants to be.

With experience in the sex work industry as well as the work that she’s done in the world of Hip Hop, Holiday is no stranger to the issues and disadvantages that women face in today’s world. She recounts several problematic realities of being a woman in Rap. “If you bat your eyes too hard or you say thank you too sweetly or you respond too quickly and a man doesn’t take it the right way, you may lose your position in that room.” One of Holiday’s main goals is to work her way up in the industry to get to a point where she has enough power to not have to worry about what she says, how she looks, and whose favor she has when she walks into a room. “There are very few women in positions, running labels that have a say in things. Unfortunately, one of the big things is that to gain power, you have to be attractive. Sex sells.”

Because of everything that Holiday has gone through and triumphed over, she stands in a particularly advantageous spot as one of the few powerful women capable of taking the throne as one of the next queens of Hip Hop, a coveted title that she is undoubtedly built for.

Be sure to check out the new single “FEATURES” and the gorgeous music video that has recently been released alongside it. You can find Holiday The Golden Child and her music on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Spotify, Soundcloud and BET Jams. Also check her out on the podcast 8atthetable which can be found on YouTube and IGTV.

1260BC – 1260 AM

New album from 1260BC shares unvarnished truth of the streets

ATLANTA, GA – A new artist from Atlanta, Georgia is bringing a style of Hip Hop to the table that is equal parts raw and respect. 1260BC is an up-and-coming rapper who is bringing his stories from the streets and sharing them with the world with unvarnished truth. In fact, it’s that realism that he most wants to be known for as an artist – something which shines bright on his latest single “1260 AM.”

“I hate rappers who say something and really don’t live it,” he said. “That’s why I really just want everybody to know I’m telling the truth. I live what I rap.”

1260BC said he respects rappers such as Kevin Gates and Nipsey Hussle for the energy they bring to their music and for the fact that they, too, tell the truth with their lyrics. But more than that, he said he’s always been impressed with how those legends have been able to connect with a wide audience.

“They tell you how it is and why it is and they’re straightforward,” he said. “They tell the truth, and that’s what I want to be known for when it comes to my music. I want people to know I don’t hold back. The things that Kevin Gates has been through, I’ve been through them, too. Back in 2013, I was still in the streets and going crazy. But when I saw him on Breakfast Club, my life changed.”

That moment served as a spark of inspiration for 1260BC who started moving away from baseball and toward music. He served for two-and-a-half years in the military and upon returning home started working with his brother on his unique sound and style as an artist. Over the past seven years, he’s been honing that sound while trying to break away from that street lifestyle that has so many consequences. For his latest single, he said he happened to get lucky with a local Atlanta producer who heard him rapping on the mic one day and offered to bring him a beat for the song.

“I was in the studio with one of my boys and when the producer walked in and heard us he said he had a beat that would be perfect for it,” 1260BC said. “He sent it to me the next day and we laid it down right away. It’s an upbeat track and when some people hear it they say it reminds them of 21 Savage. But I have my own sound that’s just different than anyone else.”

1260BC said he’s planning on continuing to drop singles over the next few months, leading up to a full album that he’d like to release in summer 2021.

OnajiDox – Answer Me

New Hip Hop duo flexes sweet and sour sound with
new singles ‘Answer Me and ‘Double Double’

ORLANDO, FL – The Japanese word for “same” is Onaji. But sometimes things that are the same are also equally different. It’s a paradox. Combine the two together and you have Onajidox, one of the hottest Hip Hop duos to hit the global market this year. Consisting of Heartbreak Aris and Tony RozayeOnajidox combines soulful melodies with hardcore Rap for a truly original sound. Their breakout single “Answer Me” went viral on YouTube, and now they’re ready to follow that up with more singles and a big global push that is sure to make them international superstars.

“We both like Anime and the whole Japanese culture, and we’re both the same when it comes to our love of music and the path we’re on,” Aris said. “But we sound different. It’s like sweet and sour. It doesn’t really make sense, but it works.”

That’s perhaps an understatement considering how many people have played the video for “Answer Me.” Exploring the struggle of reconciling feelings for another person after a breakup, the song touches on emotions with which people all over the world can connect. Featuring a melodic flow rapping style with vocals that capture the ache of a heartbreak, the song evokes thoughts of artists such as Roddy Ricch or A Boogie or 2Chainz. It has a nice bouncy sway with some groovy 808s that support a nice, smooth flow. More than anything, it’s a track that’s infectious and makes the listener want to hit repeat multiple times.

That’s the kind of music Onajidox wants to be known for – high quality sound with catchy lyrics and vibes that make fans want to sing along. That’s why they work so hard to perfect their craft. In fact, it’s that perfection that Tony said he appreciates so much about Aris.

“If I send him something and he feels like it can be better, then we’re gonna keep working until we can make it better,” Tony said. “In the studio, he helps me project my voice how I want, and if it sounds a little off, he won’t let me leave until it’s done. But that’s what it takes to be No. 1 on the Billboards. We want to be in the same conversation as Outkast or Migos of Kriss-Kross – all those great duos of the past. We want to be in that conversation.”

With “Double Double,” the follow-up single to “Answer Me,” Onajidox hopes to propel their unique sound and style to a much wider audience around the world. Slated to drop across all streaming platforms before the end of November, the song is, in Aris words, “like a big flex.”

“There are a lot of people out there who have really big egos and who think they’re more famous than they are,” Aris said. “We’re kind of calling that out and deflating that notion for people. It’s also another chance for us to show off how different we are and that whole sweet and sour vibe we give off. I think that’s what sets us apart from anyone else. When you see duos, they tend to stay in the same genre. But with us, it’s completely different every time. If you want to hear hardcore rap, punchline-in-your-face type of stuff, you’ve got Tony. And if you want to hear that soft, melodic sauce, you’ve got me. And at the end of the day, we want to be known as one of the greatest duos to ever exist. We want it to be so undeniable that there is no GOAT conversation for anyone else.”

Allen Lucas – Love

Allen Lucas fills gap in Hip Hop world with new single ‘Love’

LIMA/TOLEDO, OHIO – Allen Lucas has a unique sound and style that can only be described as sophisticated ratchetnessThat describes his personality as well as his signature vibe, which is connecting with music lovers all over the U.S. thanks to his new single “Love.” Combining the eclectic musical influences of his years in the Midwest with the sounds he’s picked up from his travels across the nation, Lucas creates a truly original feel that is equal parts captivating and familiar.

“I can go to an upscale club or a hole in the wall seamlessly,” Lucas said. “That’s why I call my sound sophisticated ratchetnessI can provide the same point of view no matter where I’m at and connect with people anywhere. I am the boy from off the corner and I’ve seen a few things in my life, but I’m trying to move the culture forward beyond the stereotypes that come with that kind of a background.”

Over the years, Lucas has spent time in New York, Atlanta, Miami and Los Angeles developing his own brand of music. His influences range from his roots in Gospel music to the West Coast influences in Hip Hop. He also has a taste of Down South in his sound combined with some upscale New York fashion thrown in.

“That’s the beauty of being from the Midwest,” he said. “You get all that thrown together into a kind of love relationship of sound and style. That’s the vibe I’m trying to capture on this new single, ‘Love.’”

Lucas said the song is based off the actions of love, not the emotions. It’s a song that explores a power couple building from the ground up and celebrating their successes over years of working hard on their relationship.

“It’s not something cheesy,” he said, “but rather something from a real point of view on a power couple and how they move. The inspiration came from me looking at what’s going on and what most people are doing right now in the Hip Hop world and realize that there was a gap for a love song. At the end of the day, I want to create feel-good music, and this song captures that perfectly. I like to feel good, to smile and to be happy and just have good times. ‘Love’ is something that couples can grab onto like it’s their song and in that way, it’s a song that can last forever.”

Lucas said he worked with J Bos Engineering out of Miami for production work on the song and that he has plans for a music video in the coming weeks. He’s also working on another single to release later this year, and possibly a third in early 2021.

ML Underwood – I Got Work

ML Underwood talks hard work in new single ‘I Got Work’

GARY, INDIANA – A man of many talents and lofty goals, ML Underwood is the definition of hard working. His latest single, “I Got Work” is a great example of that. A track that’s focused on working hard and achieving your dreams, this song is the anthem of the year.

Underwood grew up surrounded by music, whether it was at church, at home or out in the world. Having grown up in the same Indiana town as the family of Michael Jackson, his life was always full of music. “My dad was one of the people that helped the Jacksons raise money to get out on the road and support their career. I got started in music through things like that. I also grew up in a religious household, was in band in school and got to experience a variety of different kinds of music. I played the trumpet and I even sang at school events.”

Growing up, Underwood was influenced by middle school and high school directors as well as the Rap groups that he participated in, Le Boyz and The Lover Boys. They helped him get to where he is as a recording artist as well as helped to shape his style as a musician. Mrs Hatcher and Mr Phillips, his music teachers in Elementary and High School also helped influenced him in music “Right now, I would define my sound as subtle. It is clean, subtle, sexy and just overall grown.”

“I Got Work,” the latest track that Underwood has released, has his signature subtle feel to it, but also presents a bigger and much less subtle idea. “The idea of the song is to give people in urban communities a better way to make money than doing it in the streets. I put into the song that your business is your work and that means that your goals and whatever it is that you’re trying to be is your real work. It’s honest work. The title of the song might make you think that it is about making money off of drugs or on the streets, but it’s really the exact opposite. It is about building generational wealth and creating a future for yourself.”

Though “I Got Work” is Underwood’s latest track, it is far from his last. “I am always getting better and better. My goal is that every song I put out is better than the last. No matter how far I’ve gone, I’ve always got work to do.”

Underwood is more than just a musician. He has goals of expanding his artistic ventures and already does a variety of work in different industries. This includes founding and running his consulting agency, MyLife Entertainment and establishing the United Prisoner Association, which helps inmates who are wrongfully imprisoned as well as helping young people to turn their lives around.

“My goal is to go platinum and create a platform for more opportunities for myself and for others. I want to pave the way for other artists in my area so that they can have a fair shot and the chance to make it on their own. Right now, I have relationships and resources that have allowed me to get to where I am, and I hope that when I’m done, I can help young artists down the same path of success.”
